Usono is a MedTech company that revolutionizes musculoskeletal (MSK) ultrasound through dynamic imaging solutions. Our main product, ProbeFix Dynamic, is used by doctors of elite sports organizations such as Red Bull Salzburg, AS Roma and research institutions such as MIT. Thanks to our hardware, they unlock new insights in the body in movement, for prevention, diagnosis and rehabilitation.

We are seeking a freelance UI/UX Designer to craft intuitive and visually compelling reference designs for Usono’s upcoming software platform. In this role, you will be responsible for translating complex workflows into user-friendly interfaces that prioritise usability, accessibility, and responsiveness. You will play a key role in shaping the first design system and interactive mock-ups that will guide front-end development. Working closely with our CTO and development team, you will ensure that the platform meets the needs of our customers.

The Job

Reference designs for development of a platform for collaboration and assessment of medical imaging

Objective:

Design the first set of reference designs for front-end development. The expected users of the application are medical (sports) doctors, physiotherapists and patients (athletes). The application should facilitate efficient image uploading, viewing (including annotation and AI-analysis) and sharing. Additionally, patient case collaboration and reporting are essential. All while ensuring usability and accessibility.

Scope of Work:

1. User (journeys) and persona’s
   • Consider key user groups.
   • Consider 2–3 user personas based on typical workflows and needs.
   • Consider the end-to-end user journey for core tasks.
2. Wireframes & UI design
   • Create low-fidelity wireframes for selected user journeys.
   • Develop a set of high-fidelity reference screens for front-end development
3. UX Considerations
   • Ensure intuitive navigation and minimal cognitive load.
   • Address accessibility (e.g., color contrast and font size).
   • Consider responsiveness across devices (desktop, mobile).
4. Design System Proposal (based on Usono brand identity)
   • Suggest a preliminary design system including:
     • Color palette.
     • Typography.
     • Iconography.
     • Component styles (buttons, modals, toolbars).

Deliverables:

• Wireframes for 5 key user journeys.
• High-fidelity reference designs.
• Interactive mock-up.
• Design system proposal.
• Brief rationale document explaining design decisions.

Timeline and way of working:

Initial concepts due within 2 weeks of assignment start. Deadline for all deliverables to be discussed.

You will work closely with the CTO and development team. Working on-site is preferred.
