Patrick is a champion of change within companies. As a co-founder of HighTechXL and Partner at EY (formerly Ernst & Young), he focuses on building strong business strategies for young companies, and partnerships that benefit the startup teams, mentors, and sponsors. Patrick has over 20 years of experience serving large multinational and listed companies in audit and advisory services, and has worked with startups throughout his professional career.
Patrick obtained his master’s degree in business economics from Tilburg University, and his post-master’s degree in accountancy from the same university. He is a Dutch certified accountant, and a member of the Royal NIVRA (Netherlands Institute of Registered Accountants).
At his current role as Partner at EY, he works with large multinationals, especially in the technology, high-tech and chemical fields. He is the Innovation Leader within EY for the Netherlands and Belgium. He contributes to the thought leadership in the TMT (technology, media, and telecom) sector, and works to link people together in this field through his extensive international network. Patrick started an EY initiative called EYnovation, focusing on providing startups and scaleups with the tailored services they need. Together with Guus Frericks, our CEO, he co-founded HighTechXL, as well as the internal innovation program Innovate EY. EY and HighTechXL also offer this program to other corporates who seek to fuel their innovation power.
Patrick has a strong personal drive for growth – in himself and in others. He loves to see people and startups growing and accomplishing things they never thought they were capable of. “Build new things, and make them grow!” is his motto.
Patrick is from Maastricht, the Netherlands. He speaks Dutch, English, and German.
