Hans Helsloot

IPR Specialist in Residence

Hans studied electronics and industrial design engineering at the Delft University of Technology. After his graduation (cum laude), he worked for 15 years as an industrial designer in small and large enterprises. He developed building products, agricultural implements, and packaging, and filed design rights and patents. During his work as a designer he became an IP specialist.

Since 2002, he has been working for the Dutch Patent Office, and helping small and medium enterprises with IP. According to Hans, “IP is a very important business tool in innovation, and often underestimated by small entrepreneurs”.

Hans helps our startups to find out what others have already filed. In close collaboration with patent attorneys, he supports our companies in finding out what is technically unique in their proposition. He also supports our startups with the development of their IP strategy.

He speaks Dutch, English, and a little German, French and Spanish.
