Cristina has over 12 years of program management and operations experience. Prior to working for HighTechXL, she held roles in marketing and business development in a large international telecom company in Mexico and the Netherlands, as well as in a non-profit organization in Egypt.
She has a Bachelor of Engineering in computer science from the Instituto Tecnológico de Saltillo in Mexico and is a PMI-Certified Project Management Professional. She started her career with Ericsson in 1995 as a software engineer for Ericsson Telecom. She then moved into project management for multi-site development projects collaborating with the US, Canada and Sweden. She later moved into area of customization and world-wide sales support for the Intelligent Networks Product Development Unit located in the Netherlands. She relocated to Egypt in 2008 and lived there happily for 5 years, building a career in a non-profit expat center starting as a service delivery manager and making her way up to lead in partnerships and sponsoring.
Aside from her other work experience, Cristina is also an entrepreneur. In 1993, she founded and managed a language consulting company in northern Mexico with a small team of international staff. The company offered customized language instruction, technical translations and simultaneous interpretation for international companies. She was an investor in and co-owner of a fitness center in Saltillo, Mexico in 2000, and she was a lead in developing a business plan including market and feasibility study for opening a second branch of the Community Service Association expat center in New Cairo, Egypt.
More broadly, Cristina enjoys helping people, and sincerely hopes to leave a legacy of bringing happiness to others. She has lived in Mexico, the U.S., the Netherlands, and Egypt, and speaks English, Spanish, and Dutch.
